So you may have noticed that it has been raining virtually non-stop for the last couple of weeks and is predicted to continue for a while yet. All this water has to go somewhere and the capacity of rivers is not enough to hold it all. This leads to flooding on a scale I haven’t seen in Reading for many years.
The pictures below were taken walking along the Thames and the Kennet & Avon Canal that runs through the centre of Reading’s Oracle shopping centre.
Someone has also posted the following video to YouTube showing an arial view over Winnersh and the Showcase Cinema roundabout which has been particularly bad causing chaos for those trying to get to and from the M4.
