Center Parcs 2021 – Day Five – I’m Free!

The last day of any holiday is always one of packing and waiting and Center Parcs is no different. You have to be out of the lodge by 10am but you can stay on until the end of the day if you wish. We had decided to stay until lunchtime and so once we had exited the lodge we had breakfast in The Pancake House followed by an impromptu game of badminton in the Sports Plaza.

After a week here my thoughts went back to my comments on Monday when I talked about the cost of a holiday at Center Parcs. It is certainly true that if you add on lots of activities the costs can rack up but it doesn’t have to be that way.

So here’s what you can do for free:

  • Use the subtropical swimming pool (post Covid you can go as often as you like)
  • Go for a bike ride (there’s 400 acres to explore)
  • Walk through the forest (ditto)
  • Take a ride on the land train (designed to get you from A to B but also good fun)
  • Play on one of the many adventure playgrounds (there are loads)
  • Go to the beach (bring your bucket and spade and build a sandcastle)
  • Have a barbecue (the lodges all have brick bbqs outside)
  • Surf the net on the free wifi (coverage and speeds are good)
  • Tackle the maze
  • Explore the nature trail

After a week away I can safely say that Center Parcs is a great place for a family and the kettle works well…
