There’s a lot of talk in the media at the moment about why the Scots (or the Welsh for that matter) don’t support the English in, well, anything basically.
As far as I am concerned there is one main reason for this and that is that the English have now pride in their home land. Perhaps it is because we don’t have a unique language of our own, after all English seems to have been adopted pretty much by everyone else. Or maybe it is because the Scots just don’t know when they have got it good.
Devolution has given the Scots their own assembly but they still get to have a say in the running of what is rapidly becoming the English parliament – why? I say that we should cut all ties with Scotland and let them get on with it. It’s what they want anyway and we can concentrate on spending the money here.
