Case Histories is a TV series based on the books of Kate Atkinson about the private detective Jackson Brodie and set in the beautiful city of Edinburgh It is a marvellous series spoilt only by there not being enough of them. The second run that has just finished had only three 90 minute episodes.
There’s a lot to admire in the series from the casting to the location but what really stands out for me is that it has the best sound track of any TV show I think I have ever seen. It is thoughtfully chosen to perfectly match the mood and tone of the programme.
Thanks to Shazam (that app that works like witchcraft) I was able to capture the tracks from the second episode (I ignored Taylor Swift). Some of the artists (the first and last) will be pleased to hear that I have bought their records on the basis of this.
The production company have also tweeted their own list and this will obviously be more accurate!
