Center Parcs 2023 – Day Four – A Quiet Day

We’ve had a couple of full-on days so it was good to be able to do a lot less today. The only booked activity was “football pool” which is very much as the name suggests – pool only with footballs. I think that when this was initially booked up the thought was that this would appear to the four-year-old in the party but actually it was the 30-year-olds who got the most out of it while the granddaughter played quite happily in a Paw Patrol car!

One of the issues I have with Center Parcs Longleat is that it is so steep here. To go from one place to another involves quite a climb and to do this on a bike is hard work – especially when you are only four and have little legs. The one place where it is completely flat is around the perimeter of the lake so this afternoon we carried the bike down there and let the little ‘un cycle around stopping only for an ice cream.

Once the grandchildren were tucked up in bed asleep the ‘men’ all went to play adventure golf. There are two 8-hole courses here both this a medieval theme but it is craftily set up such that the ninth hole will keep your ball meaning you can only play one of two courses. To get around this we skipped the last hole on the first course and went straight to the second one. I think that we only got away with this as it was so late in the day and the place wasn’t manned.

Turns out that I am pretty rubbish at adventure golf, unlike the boys, particularly the eldest one who got a hole-in-one on the first and sixth holes! I think I need a lot more practice.
